MEIWA is renowned for its Japanese long standing excellence in the design and engineering of high quality and high-performing machinery since 1945. Equipped with a reliable Honda 4-stroke petrol engine, this reversible plate compactor is ready to work as hard as you do. The RP300X Meiwa 340kg diesel reversible plate compactor is suited for a wide range of medium sized jobs such as pathways, paving, drainage, landscaping, etc.
Although reversible plate compactors have slightly smaller plates than forward plate compactors by design (which means they will compact a slightly smaller area during each run), they are usually a bit heavier, bulkier and more expensive due to their advantage of being able to move forwards and backwards, which allows compacting in more restricted / tight spaces.
· Yanmar Diesel engine
· Heavy duty belt drive transmission
· Made in Japan
· 1 Year manufacturer’s warranty
If you’re looking for durable equipment with the ‘MADE IN JAPAN’ stamp of reliability for compaction work, look no further.

· Weight of the machine (which will affect the depth of compaction and how it can be transported)
· Vibration per minute (VPM)
· The size of the plate (larger plate = larger area compacted with each run)
· Plate Compactors compact the soil through vibration whereas Trench Rammers compact the soil through impact (due to their longer impact stroke).
· Plate Compactors have higher VPM than Trench Rammers and are better suited for asphalt and granular soil (gravel, sand, or silt with little or no clay content).
· Trench Rammers have a longer impact stroke and provide deeper compaction, which make them more effective for clay type soils, but due to their smaller plates they take longer to compact the same area as a plate compactor.
