Equipped with a reliable Robin 4-stroke petrol engine, this plate compactor is ready to work as hard as you do.  The KP50 Meiwa 49kg plate compactor is suited for a wide range of smaller jobs - pathways, paving, small repair jobs. It is also light enough to be easily loaded in and out of a vehicle. The KP50 is a compact, transport friendly model with folding handles, designed to fit in most medium side vehicles.

Benefits and Features of the KP50 Plate Compactor:

·  Genuine Robin 4-stroke engine

·  Heavy duty belt drive transmission

·  Compact and transport friendly design

·  Folding handles to fit in most small to medium vehicles

·  Made in Japan

·  1 Year manufacturer’s warranty

If you’re looking for durable equipment with the ‘MADE IN JAPAN’ stamp of reliability for compaction work, look no further.

Specifications of the KP50 Meiwa 49kg Plate Compactor:

Engine type

Robin EH09F 4-stroke petrol (2.8HP)

Weight

49kg

Plate size

480mm L x 295mm W

Impact cycle

91.7Hz (5,500 vibrations / min)

Traveling speed

22-25 m/min

Centrifugal force

4.9kN (500kgf)

Fuel tank capacity

1.5L

Plate compactors are best for gravel, sand or silt and larger areas and compact through vibration (as opposed to impact, which is used by Trench Rammers). Plate compacters do not compact as deep as Trench Rammers, but can be used on larger areas and can also be used on all soils.

Things to consider when selecting a plate compactor:

·  Centrifugal force

·  Vibration per minute (VPM)

·  The durability of the plate

·  Additional features required (e.g. water tank or transport wheels)

Generally cast ductile iron plates are better suited for compaction, while a higher VPM is better suited for asphalt and granular materials. The amplitude (stroke length) and weight are usually a better indication of performance than the centrifugal force.
